Albatravel Group was founded in Venice in the early 1980s as an incoming Italian agency. In 1987 Albatravel Group launched a full range of Italian hotel product for the FIT market. Since then the Group has gone from strength to strength expanding from its home in Venice throughout mainland Italy and now includes offices in Milan, Rome, Genoa, Lecce, Messina, Pescara and Florence. In Italy alone Albatravel Group now employs over 200 people.

The first Italian company to launch an online booking site complete with XML, Albatravel Group's product is now sold worldwide with offices in the United States, Great Britain, France, Spain, Switzerland and Russia.

In 2000 Albatravel Group launched Worldwide Hotel Link with the specific task of becoming a specialised wholesaler of European hotel product. “WHL” now has over 5000 independent hotel contracts with some of the best rates online.
